Ripples in the Sand
I finally got to go out and shoot with my new Canon 5D Mark II. Here’s the first image that I’m pleased with. Photographed on December 6, 2008.
Willamette Valley Sunset
As I was leaving the wildlife refuge yesterday, I noticed that I could see some of the taller Cascade peaks in the distance. I used a long lens and waited until I could include one of the geese in the composition. Photographed on November 29, 2008.
Japanese Maple
I used a selective focus lens to soften the background and create a more intimate feeling. Photographed on November 17, 2008.
Pair of Swans
I like the feel of this image. I wanted to capture an image that included the pair of swans and the reflection of the setting sun. Photographed on November 15, 2008.
Ducks at Sunset
I decided to take advantage of the sunset and try silhouetting these ducks against the sky. Photographed on November 15, 2008.
Lone Swan
A lone swan flying near sunset. Photographed on November 15, 2008.
Three Swans
There were a number of swans at the local wildlife refuge. In this particular image, I like the way that their wings are in three slightly different positions. I think it would have worked even better if they were flying from left to right. Photographed on November 15, 2008.
Ripples
I think this is a pied-billed grebe, which I often see at this location. I liked the pattern of the ripples and the way the purple hues mixed with the faint orange reflection from the setting sun. Photographed on November 15, 2008.
Sunlit Leaves
I liked the way the sun was shining through the leaves of this tree. Photographed on November 15, 2008.
